Yes, I said it. You don’t have to eat chicken breasts for weight loss if you don’t want to.

I really do not care very much for the taste/texture of chicken breasts. I understand that its lower fat content is one of the reasons it is touted as one of the best proteins for weight loss, but why does it have to taste like pain and suffering?

In 2019, I lost 15 plus pounds over a period of 6 months, and I did that eating quite a lot of chicken (not breasts).

So What Do I Eat if I Don’t Like Chicken Breasts?

Chicken thighs. Dark meat. Come over to the dark side. You know you love it. It’s very delicious and just as nutritious. You don’t have to shed tears while eating it, and the extra 6 grams of fat per 100 grams of protein will not kill you.

This post isn’t about highlighting why chicken thighs are good for you, how they contain the good kind of fat, or how they’re cheaper. Shocker, these are all true, and there are a lot of great, well written articles that go into these in depth. Here is one.

When it comes to dieting or eating to lose weight, the most important thing is consistency. It doesn’t matter what you choose to do, but if you cannot keep it up, you’re setting yourself up for failure.

So tell me, how then am I supposed to stay on a diet of chicken breasts, when the thought of them makes me want to tear my hair out?

New year, new resolutions, a lot of them weight loss related.

Google is currently inundated by searches. “Best meal plan for weight loss”. “Natural ways to lose weight”. “How to lose belly fat”. “Best protein for weight loss”. “Best diet for weight loss”. etc.

75% of every meal plan offered, will have chicken breasts as part of the diet. So this is me offering you an alternative. If you hate chicken breasts like I do, don’t eat them. Replace breasts with thighs in all your recipes and enjoy your meals guilt free. You’ll have a better chance of nailing your weight loss goals.

If you need help with ideas or recipes, I’ll be happy to offer some! Simply leave me a message.

Good luck!
